Volata Magazine No. 43, Cycling · Culture · Journalism. Wabi Reference: 9772385365
They say a decade goes by very quickly, and at VOLATA we've proven it. It's exactly 10 years since the publication of our first issue, and we can hardly believe it's been so long!
To celebrate, we wanted to look back at what was happening in the cycling world a decade ago, when we were just starting out on this journey, and reflect on what we've done well and what we haven't done so well. Similarly, we're looking back and revisiting the 2014 Emakumeen Bira that nailed the Rabobank-Liv race, led by Eurosport journalist Laura Álvarez; Marcos Pereda gets into the shoes of Gino Bartali when he won his second Tour de France ten years later; We return to the same roads of Girona and the Costa Brava as in VOLATA issue 1 and uncover previously unpublished photographs by Brazo de Hierro of the change of wood at Barcelona's Velòdrom d'Horta exactly a decade ago.
In this issue 43, we also interview former pro Daniel Oss, visit the factory of the historic cycling shoe brand SIDI—which is embarking on a new era under new management—and delve into Portuguese cycling through an extensive and previously unpublished dossier with unique information from journalist Juanfran de la Cruz.
And, as always, with columns by Laura Meseguer, Juan Antonio Flecha—with a very interesting article about his latest adventure taking on the Flandrien Challenge—, Ander Izagirre, and Luis Ángel Maté. And much more!
