How many interviews have we conducted at VOLATA over the years? It would be difficult to give an exact number, but we can guess, without much error, that it's around two hundred. We've conducted them in all sorts of settings: at the finish line of a race, in hotel bars, inside cars, by phone, by email, and, most recently, by video call. Sometimes the interviewees have been open (or seemed to be) and eager to talk; sometimes, they haven't gone beyond a monosyllable.

We are undoubtedly gaining experience in this journalistic genre that fascinates us and to which we dedicate VOLATA No. 31. In it, we compile some of the conversations we've had over the past few weeks with big names like Anna van der Breggen, Eusebio Unzué, Nairo Quintana, Jean-Paul Mellouët—creator of the Tro Bro León race—, EF rider Magnus Cort Nielsen—one of the standout cyclists of last year's Vuelta a España—and road builder Legor, interviewed by Juan Antonio Flecha. And we'll also feature the rest of our usual content, such as a gravel route around the Albufera region of Valencia where we test the Shimano GRX groupset, the usual sections, and our columnists, with Laura Meseguer, Ander Izagirre, and Luis Ángel Maté.
