Volata Magazine No. 26, Cycling · Culture · Journalism. Wabi Reference: 9772385365
It's implicit in almost every cycling photo. It's the struggle, that difficult-to-measure and calibrate element that is part of the essence of the sport and that is perceived in every grimace of effort.
In issue 26 of the magazine, we delved into this concept to learn more about the different forms it can take. Thus, we've prepared an issue in which we interview figures who know what it's like to fight against the current, such as the Spanish cyclocross champion, Felipe Orts, and the Colombian Education First rider, Sergio Higuita. We also review the history of the quintessential Belgian team, Lotto Soudal, the Tour of Flanders and the origin of the "flandriens," and the Ore-Ida, the toughest women's cycling race in history. We also accompany Vittoria Bussi in her fight to set a new hour record, and Canadian Svein Tuft in his quest to rediscover himself after retiring from elite sport.
The issue is rounded out with a gravel route through the Canary Islands, a new column by journalist and writer Laura Meseguer, in addition to the usual sections and much more. We also debut a new collaboration: that of professional Luis Ángel Maté (Basque Country), who also joins the columnist.
The cover is the work of artist Gastón Mendienta, an illustration that depicts that battle against the mountains. It is the struggle to design the next adventure.
