Nothing is faster than the Tarmac SL8 thanks to a combination of aerodynamics, lightness, and ride quality that was once thought impossible. After eight generations and more than two decades of development, it is more than the fastest Tarmac ever: it is the fastest race bike in the world.

Aerodynamics or lightness alone do not win races: speed is what matters. To achieve that speed, it is necessary to create an uncompromising combination of aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness, and compliance. Through race simulations with real data, our Ride Science team knows that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest race bike ever made on the routes that matter: 16.6 seconds faster over 40 km, 128 seconds faster in Milan-San Remo, and 20 seconds faster on the legendary Tourmalet climb.

Now, the fastest race bike in the world joins the SRAM RED AXS group with a power meter, the lightest electronic group ever made, and a Roval Rapide CLX II tubeless-ready wheelset. All S-Works Tarmac SL8 models come with a Roval Rapide cockpit to save weight and to achieve the fastest possible control setup.

• AERO IN EVERYTHING: We are investing in aerodynamics where it is most needed, at the leading edge, not just where it looks good. In the process, we have created our most aerodynamic road bike. Yes, it is more aerodynamic than the Venge. Clean air is optimized for maximum advantage with the new Tarmac’s Speed Sniffer front end. By moving the head tube back - the tube that determines the width of the head tube - the leading edge of the head tube can be much sharper, offering a much lower aerodynamic drag shape. Taking advantage of the new UCI regulations, the Tarmac SL8 has the narrowest and most aerodynamic seat post we have ever made, ensuring that the fast-moving contaminated air around the legs can flow back more cleanly. Doesn't victory smell sweet?

• MINIMUM WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AERODYNAMICS: The Tarmac SL8 was based on the Aethos experience to be easily made with the minimum UCI and a complete aerodynamic setup. The team created an astonishing 685-gram frame, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and any other World Tour bike*. With the ability to make lightness an absolute priority on the down tube, seat tube, and rear of the bike, the lessons from Aethos were applied. The frame shape carries the load so efficiently that the additional layers of carbon stiffness are redundant. *Unless, of course, you count the time Kasper Asgreen raced with our 585-gram Aethos frame during a Tour stage.
