The Enduro line of angular contact steering bearings starts with BO black oxide treated chrome steel rings, next level full 440C stainless steel, and the highest end is, with a lifetime warranty, XD-15 aerospace stainless steel (races and balls).

They are always designed with the largest possible balls, feature micro-groove mounted double lip seals and are 90% filled with high pressure water proof grease for the ultimate in protection against sweat and the elements.

Enduro Angular Contact (A/C) Bearings are designed so that all balls are evenly mated to distribute force over a larger surface area, decreasing friction, minimizing wear and maximizing wear life.

Enduro uses only 440C stainless steel balls and races to provide long life and superior corrosion resistance in applications and environments that may be less than ideal. 440C has the highest strength, hardness, and wear resistance of all standard high carbon 440 series stainless steel alloys. Unsurprisingly, it is also the most expensive of the 440 series alloys and requires several rounds of heat treatment and cryogenic treatment to achieve its superior mechanical properties.

Although stainless steel has 20% less load capacity and is slightly softer than our standard 52100 chrome steel used in most of our bearings, stainless steel is a great alternative for use in wet conditions, if you wash your bike frequently, or where sweat may be present.

Enduro Bearings also uses LLB type seals and CRC Marine Grease on these bearings to further waterproof them against the elements.

Black Oxide bearings receive an additional iron oxide Fe3O4 (magnetite) treatment that makes them more resistant to corrosion.
