TUNE-UP OF DRIVING DYNAMICS: The Specialized Driving Dynamics team developed a custom fit for the Epic 8's new shock absorber. Our unique damping characteristics, prescribed by Ride Dynamics, holistically elevate the driving experience. By adjusting the shock absorbers together with the chassis lever rates and the new kinematics, we can offer a bike that goes beyond the sum of its parts.

BIOMECHANICAL EFFICIENCY: By optimizing the kinematics of the suspension, Specialized's Ride Dynamics team reduced the inefficient swing caused by pedaling by 20%, while maintaining an active suspension for effective management of pothole force, ensuring that you remain in the most efficient pedaling position. It is the most efficient suspension bike with pedaling that we have tried.

MORE WITH LESS: With the Epic 8, we don't spend a single extra gram to get maximum frame capacity. All models now feature SWAT 4.0 to carry all your trail essentials, and an integrated steerer stop to avoid the ubiquitous top tube scar the first time your stars and handlebars turn. In fact, the new frame of the Epic 8 S-Works has lost weight (76 grams to be exact) while obtaining these new additions.
