Several years of research produced those innovations that make the Shimano Dura Ace R9200 even faster. Every part has been reviewed, refined and optimized to allow for those decisive seconds of advantage, whether in a breakaway from the peloton or in the final sprint on the Champs-Élysées.

Electronic Di2 components rely on wireless technology where it counts to make shifting even faster and more reliable. Smooth shifting is also the goal of the Hyperglide+ system, already known in the MTB segment, which is designed to bring out the maximum performance and potential of each rider.

The Shimano Dura Ace FC-R9200 crank performs two crucial tasks: It converts pedal force into propulsion and ensures extremely fast and precise gear changes. Contributing to this is not only the lightweight cranks, made with Hollowtech II technology, but also the uniquely designed chainrings, which have a hollow Hollowglide construction and guarantee quick and smooth shifting. The result is responsive acceleration from any gear, ensuring the 2x12-speed crankset has absolute position.

Different arm lengths and chainrings with teeth from 50-34 to 54-40 offer variability and an optimal gear ratio for every riding situation.

Hollowtech II
The guiding principle of Shimano's Hollowtech II technology is the perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency. The goal was to make a connecting rod that would minimize the effort required for actuation and allow for more efficient power transmission.

An exclusive forging process allows the production of extremely light connecting rods that, however, guarantee maximum rigidity. The fixed connection of the right arm to the bottom bracket axis and its external bearing also serve for an optimal relationship between stiffness and low weight.
