Several years of research produced those innovations that make the Shimano Dura Ace R9200 even faster. Every part has been revised, refined and optimized to allow for those decisive lead seconds, whether in a breakaway from the peloton or in the final sprint on the Champs-Elysées.

The electronic Di2 components rely on wireless technology where it matters to make shifting even faster and more reliable. The smoothness of the changes is also the objective of the Hyperglide+ system, already known in the MTB segment, which is designed to get the maximum performance and all the potential of each rider.

The Shimano Dura Ace FC-R9200 crank performs two crucial tasks: It converts pedal force into propulsion and ensures extremely fast and precise gear changing. Not only the lightweight cranks, made with Hollowtech II technology, contribute to this, but also the exclusively designed chainrings, which have a hollow Hollowglide construction and guarantee fast and smooth shifting. The result is responsive acceleration from any speed, which ensures the 2x12-speed crankset is absolutely positioned.

Different arm lengths and chainrings with teeth from 50-34 to 54-40 offer variability and an optimal gear ratio for every riding situation.

Hollowtech II
The guiding principle behind Shimano's Hollowtech II technology is the perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency. The goal was to make a connecting rod that would minimize the effort required for the drive and allow more efficient power transmission.

An exclusive forging process allows the production of extremely light connecting rods that, however, guarantee maximum rigidity. The fixed connection of the right arm to the bottom bracket axis and its external bearing also serve for an optimal ratio between rigidity and low weight.
