The new 1x11 speed chainrings for the Deore XT have been developed based on intensive testing with world class cross country and trailer riders. The tests covered every conceivable situation, from the dusty conditions of America and southern Europe to the heavy mud and sleet of the Nordic winter.

Shimano's dynamic chain engagement technology
An even more efficient chain guide was the stated goal for the development of the new chainrings for the DEORE XT. This goal is achieved through the so-called Dynamic Chain Commitment. The redesigned tooth profiles of the CRM81 chainrings are shaped to provide optimal retention and guidance of the chain on the chainring, while reducing drivetrain noise and minimizing wear. Coated steel teeth ensure maximum durability.
