The design of the Shimano XTR RT-MT900 brake rotors is a further development of the successful Ice-Technologies Freeza design. While the 140 and 160mm rotors in particular have been further reduced in weight by 5 and 10 grams respectively, the 180 and 203mm versions have undergone intensive testing to further improve heat dissipation at 20°C. and they're also pleasingly light (203mm: minus 30 grams). This effective dissipation of the heat generated during braking is due, among other things, to the sandwich construction (stainless steel - aluminum - stainless steel) that improves and stabilizes braking performance. The result is consistent, first-class braking performance even in the harshest conditions.
