Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 road bike frame in Ready to Paint Raw Carbon, 2026. Manufacturer reference: 74926-0156
Nothing is faster than the Tarmac SL8. The reason? The combination we've achieved of aerodynamics, lightness, and a ride quality that until recently seemed impossible. Eight generations later and after more than two decades of development, it's not just the fastest Tarmac in history: it's also the fastest race bike in the world.
Races aren't won solely on aerodynamics or lightness: it's speed that matters. And to achieve that, you have to create an uncompromising combination of aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness, and comfort. Our Ride Science team simulated races with real-world data and found the Tarmac SL8 to be the fastest road bike ever built on the biggest roads: 16.6 seconds faster over 40km, 128 seconds faster at Milano San Remo, and 20 seconds faster on the legendary Tourmalet climb.
100% AERO: We've placed aerodynamic elements where they're needed, not just where they look good. And so, we've created our most aerodynamic road bike yet. Yes, more so than the Venge. With the Speed Sniffer, the Tarmac's new taper, clean airflow is optimized for maximum benefit. By moving the head tube (which determines the angle of the steerer tube) rearward, the leading edge of the head tube is much sharper, and the resulting shape has much less aerodynamic drag. Taking advantage of the new UCI regulations, the Tarmac SL8 has the narrowest and most aerodynamic seatpost we've ever made. This way, the dirty air around your legs flows more cleanly to the rear. Victories taste sweet, right?
MINIMUM WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AERODYNAMICS: Using the lessons learned from the Aethos, the Tarmac SL8 was designed to meet minimum UCI requirements and offer a 100% aero construction. The team created an incredible 685-gram frame, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other World Tour frame*. We also applied what we learned from the Aethos to prioritize lightness in the downtube, seat tube, and rear end of the bike. The frame's shape handles the load so efficiently that there's no need for extra layers of carbon. *Unless you count the time Kasper Asgreen rode our 585-gram Aethos frame in a Tour de France stage.
RIDE LIKE A ROCKET, RIDE LIKE A GLOW: With an optimized stiffness-to-weight ratio (33% better than the SL7), the Tarmac SL8 delivers legendary handling, aggressive response, and world championship-proven geometry that's next-level. The bike is stiffer at the pedals, more precise at the handlebars, and more comfortable in the saddle, setting a new standard for road bike comfort. Thanks to our Rider-First Engineering, all riders, regardless of size, can enjoy ride quality and control never before seen. In the saddle, the Tarmac SL8 offers 6% more comfort: it floats over rough terrain and offers a plushness uncommon in the demanding world of road bikes. The Tarmac's geometry and 32mm tire clearance are identical to the SL7, ensuring easy fitment and the ability to run larger tires when needed. BEYOND GENDER: We can find more differences between two male cyclists than between a man and a woman. Gender alone doesn't provide enough data to be the sole factor when designing a bike. That's why creating bikes just for men or women is a thing of the past. All cyclists can enjoy the advantages of the Tarmac SL8. It's time to go Beyond Gender.
68mm threaded bottom bracket, flat-mount disc brakes, and seamless integration: the S-Works Tarmac SL8 frame is the ultimate starting point for the setup you've always dreamed of.
