With six years of technological developments and our most advanced racing insert to date, the Equipe RS S9 Bib Shorts forge new terrain, bringing unmatched stability and comfort to the most demanding speed-focused applications.

The S9 marks the future of racing-adapted comfort, built on a completely new platform that has been redesigned from the ground up. With years of testing and feedback from riders at the highest level in the sport, we continue to see that the most advanced insert technology is only as good as the frame behind it. Consider the tough curves, pedaling in and out of the saddle, and hours of body repositioning that greatly impact your shorts and the way your insert works, and ultimately the comfort that both can provide.

To address these points, we employed A-Lock Engineering, our new reinforcement system comprising proprietary textiles and technologies that work together to stabilize the shorts and secure the insert in place. The S9 generation incorporates just two panels, with a "butterfly" primary panel completely wrapping the legs and converging at the rear to form our new ergoBox frame. This design effectively frames the insert in place and provides an ultra-comfortable wrap around your legs using our Type.441 fabric, specifically developed for compressive support and silky comfort. From here, we added our exclusive roll bar, which mimics the anti-roll bar on a racing car by using the bib straps to stabilize the insert as its weight is transferred from left to right through corners. Each strap is sewn into the seam directly above the insert,

The bib straps have also been redesigned using a calibrated stretch throughout, with the rear section using a single section of stretch material, folded over on itself, forming an A-frame at the back. Offers limited vertical stretch to add more stability. At the front, the straps are made of a more flexible material, with an antibacterial carbon fabric, to absorb moisture and leave it flat.

We also focus on a single insert platform, developed from our proven Equipe Evo, which gives us the freedom to re-evaluate what is most crucial for an optimized insert with stroke specs. We reduced the overall footprint to lose additional weight, employed superAir microShock foam with 3D waffle, incorporated our kraterCooler system to increase airflow at the front, and took extra steps to anchor the insert at the rear with our patented horizontal stabilizer. The result? ASSOS signature comfort, stabilized.
